The past year has also thrown light on much that we have to be thankful for and we're extremely grateful to have this opportunity to celebrate once again.
And what better way than to step outside and experience nature at her finest. Disconnect from our virtual offices and re-connect with ourselves in a beautiful tranquil setting surrounded by live acoustic music.
FOLK MUSIC
Each year, RMWF celebrates India's rich and diverse folk music traditions with exquisite performances and musical collaborations and over the years, folk artists have become a part of the RMWF family.
That bond was further strengthened in 2020 during the pandemic. The impact of COVID-19 dealt a serious blow to the livelihoods of folk music artists in India and as festival organisers, we worked tirelessly to raise funds and support for our artists and their families. In April 2020, we launched 'Let's Folk Together' - a virtual fundraiser concert in support of our folk artist community. Again, in September 2020, we launched 'Together, Louder, Stronger' - a second fundraiser concert, both of which raised over $250,000 and featured artist friends such as Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Dadlani, Amit Trivedi, Harshdeep Kaur, Shaan, Salim Sulaiman, Maati Baani, Benny Dayal, Bhuvan Bam and many others...
LALKAAR
RMWF is proud to associate with Population Foundation of India as its development partner to present Lalkaar - a movement in support of Women's Rights in India. In its latest edition of the festival, RMWF will feature special performances, poetry readings and discussions that underscore a message of 'Empowerment'.
